"Changing the World One Family at a Time"
Purpose:
This group serves to offer moms a supportive environment to explore emotional struggles and expectations in parenting, as well as a tool to increase family connectedness.
*This group will have an accompanying child group*
Members:
This group is for moms of any age.
Goals:
1.) Freely express feelings of frustration, helplessness, and inadequacy that each experiences in the parenting role
2.) Learn and implement problem-solving, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
3.) Increase confidence and feelings of empowerment as a parent
Purpose
This group serves to offer like-minded, creative teens a safe place for exploring feelings and to provide a source of community and emotional support.
Members:
This group is for ages 12-17.
Goals:
1.) Learn to utilize creativity as a coping mechanism for daily challenges
2.) Supply positive environment for exploring self and feelings
3.) Foster feelings of self-worth and empowerment
Members:
This group is for teens between the ages of 12 and 17 who are exploring or who identify as LGBTQ+
Goals:
1.) Identify and discuss feelings and learn to implement coping and problem-solving skills
2.) Explore identity, values, and goals and confront actions that are in opposition to these
3.) Increase confidence, positive outlooks, and assertive behaviors
Purpose:
This group serves to offer questioning teens or teens within the LGBTQ+ community a positive outlet and a supportive resource for expressing emotions and exploring identity.
Purpose:
This group serves to offer emotional support in a judgement-free, safe space to those who experience symptoms of depression or those who have struggled with suicidal thoughts.
Members:
This group is for any age range, but members cannot be currently suicidal.
Goals:
1.) Nurture feelings of hope and a commitment to the future
2.) Learn and implement coping skills to manage negative emotions
3.) Identify, challenge, and replace negative self-talk with positive, realistic, and empowering self-talk
Purpose:
This group serves to offer those who suffer from anxiety a support system and safe environment to explore fears and triggers for anxiety.
Members:
1.) There will be two groups for this category: an adult group (18 and up) and an adolescent group (10-17).
Goals:
1.) Verbalize an understanding of the components of anxiety
2.) Identify, challenge, and replace fearful self-talk with positive, realistic, and empowering self-talk
3.) Learn and implement coping/calming skills that result in a reduction of anxiety and improved daily functioning
Purpose:
This group serves to offer singles an outlet for emotional expression, and a support system to freely explore identity, values, and goals.
Members:
This group is for single individuals (ages 25 and up).
Goals:
1.) Identify and discuss feelings surrounding current life situations
2.) Explore identity, values, and goals and confront actions that are in opposition to these
3.) Increase feelings of empowerment and confidence
Purpose:
This group serves to offer those who are experiencing crises tools and emotional support in a setting that is safe, empowering, and free of judgment.
Members:
This group is for all ages.
Goals:
1.) Identify and verbalize feelings surrounding the existing crises
2.) Develop and implement problem-solving and conflict-resolution skill
3.) Implement calming and coping strategies to manage the reactions to the crises
